Former Indian President APJ Abdul Kalam has passed away. He was hospitalised after he collapsed following a massive heart attack, at the IIM Shillong campus this evening. He was reportedly critical and was admitted in the Bethany hospital in Shillong.
Kalam was a popular head of state between 2002 and 2007 and the 11th president of India.

Kalam, one of India’s best known Presidents and scientists, was visiting IIM for a lecture. He was 84.

84-year-old Kalam was rushed to Bethany hospital in Nongrim hills after he collapsed during the lecture in the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) at around 6.30 pm.
Chief Secretary PBO Warjiri told reporters outside the hospital that he had spoken to Union Home Secretary LC Goyal asking for necessary arrangements to be made for carrying Kalam’s body from Guwahati to Delhi tomorrow morning.
