Bret Hart Hitman wowed wrestling fans in the early 90s with his athletic performances – a constant in the WWE’s (then WWF) entertaining plotlines. The Hitman needs no introduction: he held the Heavyweight Championship for 654 days and his feuds with the likes of Ric Flair made for headline acts in the wrestling’s most enthralling period.

Now he’s fighting another fight. In an emotional post on FB, Bret Hart tells of the incredible cost of being a professional wrestler/entertainer and how he hopes to fight cancer just like he did The Undertaker or Goldberg.

“I make a solemn vow to all of those that once believed in me, the dead and the living, that I will wage my fearsome fight against cancer with one shield and one sword carrying my determination and my fury for life, emboldened by all the love that’s kept me going this long already,” he writes.
