Karnataka Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy told reporters in Bengaluru on Saturday that the killers of senior journalist Gauri Lankesh will 100 per cent be caught in a few weeks.

Ramalinga Reddy said while there is no deadline, it is a “matter of weeks now”.

“Unlike the murders of Dabholkar and Pansare [who were murdered in Maharasthra in the past three years]), where the probe has stretched on, the Special Investigation Team here has definite clues and knows the identities of those who killed Ms. Lankesh. The process of evidence collection is on,” he said, as per a Hindu report.

Reddy said that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the killing had clues about the assailants, but those could not be disclosed at the moment, as per a PTI report.

Lankesh was shot dead at close range by unidentified men outside her home in Bengaluru on the night of September 5. Her murder has caused massive outrage among the press and as well anti-establishment voices.
