Days after a Swiss couple was attacked in Uttar Pradesh, a German national was allegedly assaulted by a railway staff for not returning his greetings, ANI reported.

The incident took place in Sonbhadra district’s Robertsganj station when Holger Eric Misch, got off a train and began to ask for directions.

While he was asking for directions to the Agori fort, the accused Aman Kumar reportedly greeted Misch and enquired him about his visit but he did not respond. This angered Kumar and he pushed the tourist to the ground and allegedly thrashed him multiple times.

The police has arrested the accused and investigation in the case is underway.

But, the accused has claimed innocence and has alleged that the German hit him first when he greeted him.

Refusing to speak to mediapersons, Holger Ereek, who has sustained minor injuries, said, “India have rules… the Supreme Court says privacy is a fundamental law. So please don’t disturb my privacy. I am here to launch an FIR and that’s it”.

This is the second major attack on foreign tourists in Uttar Pradesh in the last two weeks.

On October 26th,  a couple from Lausanne, Switzerland was chased and attacked with stones and sticks by a group of youths in Fatehpur Sikri, Agra on Sunday, leaving them battered and bruised
