Delhi Police Commissioner Bhim Sain Bassi on Tuesday joined Twitter by launching three handles. Now Delhi residents can now approach police, and even the city’s top cop, through these Twitter handles.

— Delhi Police (@DelhiPolice) December 1, 2015 “Any person in distress can send tweets or text messages at the third handle. However, if it is a case of emergency, it is always suggested that the distress caller should dial 100 for the quickest response,” said B S Bassi in a press release.
Nothing can better define a policeman’s task than ‘शांति सेवा न्याय’ i.e. ‘Peace Service Justice’ inscribed in the insignia of Delhi Police.

The handle @CPDelhi was opened first during former police chief Neeraj Kumar’s time. However, it became a dormant account post December 31, 2012.
