Rahul Gandhi made a legendary speech in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, when he took on Narendra Modi and criticised him for the recent controversies such as those relating to the JNU, the suicide of Rohith Vemula, and Indo-Pak relations.

Here are the highlights of the speech:

  • Main kuch jaanta nahi hoon, kuch samajhta nahi hoon. Main janta ki sunta hoon, unhe samajhta hoon, phir iss house mein bolta hoon

  • “Arun Jaitley has introduced a Fair and Lovely scheme for black money”

  • Babbar sher dikha dia (Make In India icon). Main poochta hoon aapne kitne logon ko rozgaar diya?
  • Thoda dar lagta hai Modiji se. Bade powerful aadmi hai (I am a little scared of Modiji. He’s a very powerful man)
  • You are also scared of Modiji. But you should tell him
  • Kya aapne Savarkar ko utha ke phenk diya kya? Agar kiya toh bahut accha kiya (Have you thrown out Savarkar? If you did then very good)
  • Aap na JNU ko kuchal paaoge, naa hi iss desh kay gareeb ko (You won’t be able to stamp out JNU or the poor of this nation)
  • I had heard #KanhaiyaKumar’s whole speech, not a word in his speech was anti-national
  • JNU kya hai. 60% students JNU ke dalit, OBC, pichhde vargon se aate hain (What is JNU? 60% of the students are Dalits, OBC or from other backward castes)
  • Modi ji did not call up Rohith Vemula’s mother nor did he even speak on the issue-Rahul Gandhi in Lok Sabha
  • Why didn’t you say one thing when the teachers of JNU were assaulted in a Delhi court?
  • Please tell me in which book it says it’s ok to hit the teachers of JNU and students in a Delhi court.
  • You want to stamp out the poor and adivasis and we will not allow it!
  • Speaker Madam! Sorry! (Deputy Speaker P Venugopal was sitting in speaker’s chair and he’s distinctly a man)
  • Respecting the flag is respecting the opinion of every one.
  • I protected an Indian flag when I allowed ABVP activists to taunt me

  • You like my speech. Beat the desk a little. If you like my speech applaud a little. It’s ok to do so.

  • Whose opinion does the PM respect? Does he respect his ministers? Your silence is telling.
  • You have been taught by your teachers in the RSS that there is only one truth. Yours.
  • The country is not the PM. The PM Is not the country.
  • PM once told the Congress President that he had solved the Nagaland problem and signed a historic accord. We asked them if they had heard of the Naga accord. They had not heard a word of the accord. What had the government signed? Even the officials in the home ministry and media had no idea. Fascinating!…The Accord is Gone With The Wind! Bye Bye Accord!
  • We isolated Pakistan internationally after the Mumbai 2008 attacks. We destroyed their reputation internationally. How did we achieve this? Our PM took the advice of everybody…. What does the PM do? He decides to have a cup of tea with Nawaz Sharif
  • Without any thought. Without any vision. Just like he did with the Nagaland accord, he did not ask anyone. I am sure he didn’t even ask Sushmaji.

  • The PM single-handedly destroyed six years of our work. In one move he personally let Pakistan out of cage in which we put them

  •  Listen to us across the aisle here. We don’t hate you. We are not your enemies.
  • Especially listen to the voice of the next generation. They are the future of this country.
