Hollywood actor, Brad Pitt has reportedly bought a rare Patek Philippe wristwatch for 5 million pounds during an auction at Geneva.

The auction house said in a statement: “It is the highest price ever paid for a wristwatch at an auction,” reports Female first .

The Swiss-made watch was originally listed at an asking price of roughly 460,000 pounds, but after an intense bidding war, it was almost sold for five million pounds.

1. Patek Philippe wrist Grand Complications model’s name is Reference 5016 which comes in its Calatrava-style case three of the complications most highly prized exceptional watches: the tourbillon, the minute repeater and the perpetual calendar with moon-phase display.

2. The perpetual calendar is endowed with a retrograde date hand, which flies back to the 1st of the month after having reached the 28th, 29th, 30th or 31st under the action of an ingenious mechanism controlled by a spiral-coiled spring .

It’s not the first time that the actor has shelled out such a huge amount on expensive watches. Last year, Brad paid 2.5 million pound for one of the world’s most expensive watches at the time as a wedding gift for wife Angelina Jolie.
