The Lok Sabha elections in India will begin on April 11, and the counting will be done on May 23. It’s tough to emphasise just how important it is to vote, to get your voice heard. Regardless of who you vote for, the most essential thing is that you go out there and do it.

The requirements to register as a voter are –

1. You are above the age of 18 as of January 1, 2019.

2. You are an Indian citizen.

3. You reside in the polling area of the constituency where you want to be enrolled.

If you wish to register offline, fill out two copies of Form 6. You’ll also need a passport size photograph and copies of proof of age and residence. These can be submitted to the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) of the Assembly Constituency, after which the person will be included in the electoral roll as a voter.

After your application is reviewed, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will visit your residence to validate the information given. Once the procedures are completed, your Voter ID will be sent to your residential address.
