28-year-old P Bhanu was celebrating the Bonalu festival with his friends. During the procession, the video shows how Bhanu first hugged the cop and then went forward to kiss him. The cop then slaps him and pushes him away in rage. The video is now being widely circulated. 

In a drunken stupor, a man got arrested for kissing a cop on duty, during a procession in Hyderabad. 

Nallakunta Police Station Inspector K Muralidhar said they have registered a case under IPC section 353 (Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) against Bhanu and took him into custody. A police inspector said, 

On Sunday, the Bonalu festival was celebrated in Hyderabad city and policemen were deployed for security. Sub Inspector Mahendra was at a procession in the area. A person named Bhanu kissed him in a drunken condition. Today we have taken him into custody and he is being sent to judicial remand. 

Bhanu was drunk at the time of the incident, later claimed he did not realise his embarrassing mistake.
