Rain in Mumbai is no less than a horror for the residents. After a short break, rain is back in the city and as always it has brought life to a standstill.

According to a report by India Today, Mumbai saw heavy rainfall today morning. Hours of incessant rainfall led to water-logging and heavy traffic in several areas.

After warning Mumbaikars of a forecast of heavy rain spanning across the next 2 days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert.

Heavy rainfall has caused disruption in the lives of people and reports suggest that schools will remain shut today.

Soon after, #MumbaiRains started trending on Twitter.

It is a festive season in Mumbai and a forecast of heavy to very heavy rainfall has been issued for 6th September, one of the days for Ganesh Visarjan.

People are advised to keep themselves updated about the schedule of trains and flights and head out only if necessary.
