The case of the ‘Rohtak Sisters’ has seen so many twists and turns that it has, now, become difficult to make any sense of it at all. It all started with the release of a video showing two sisters – Pooja and Aarti, thrashing alleged eve-teasers. A media frenzy followed and support poured in for these two women who hit back in the face of sexual assault and abuse .

Hailed ‘bravehearts’, these sisters did not, however, see a second video coming. This one, too, was of them beating and hurling expletives at men in a park, in Rohtak, but for absolutely no reason.

And then the witnesses started pouring in. Witnesses who claim that maligning men comes naturally to these two, witnesses who claim to have been victims of fraud at the hands of the girls’ family and witnesses who say they have been falsely accused and implicated by them.

The men who were accused of eve-teasing were sent to jail without any investigation. While we may never know the true story of the Rohtak sisters, this video shot by journalist, Deepika Narayan Bharadwaj, in association with The Logical Indian , asks a simple question:

Will we blame the men, irrespective of whether they are at fault or not?
