In yet another proof of the blatant arrogance of ministers, a Congress MLA in Karnataka boasted in public of how he got a woman cop transferred — just because she kept his call on hold for 42 seconds.

The incident, which was caught on video, shows Labour Minister P T Parameshwar Naik bragging about shunting out Deputy Superintendent of Police Anupama Shenai.

In the video, Naik can be seen telling his party workers, “When I called her again, she did not receive, so I have got her transferred, this is true. Why do we want officials who don’t take district minister’s phone?”

Here’s a look at the video.

Shenai had reportedly received a call from an unknown person who had said that the minister would speak to her. At the same time, she also received a call from the Superintendent of Police, Ballari, and she allegedly put the minister’s call on hold to speak to the SP. Angered by this, Naik had her transferred the next day itself.

The surfacing of the video has put the minister in hot water as only a few days ago he had claimed that he had no role in the transfer of the Deputy SP.

However, Home Minister and State Congress Chief G Parameshwara has said that the DySP has not been transferred. “I want to clarify to you she has not been transferred, she has been sent on OOD (On Official Duty) by concerned head of the department,” he said.
