Matheran, a small hill station in Maharashtra was declared the wettest place in the country after it received a total of 450mm rainfall from Friday (26th July) for 24 hours, continuously, according to the Regional Meteorological Centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD). 

This hill station is just 43 kms away from Mumbai and it is a popular weekend getaway for all Mumbaikars.
