Former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley was cremated with state honours on Sunday, 25th August at the Nigambodh Ghat in Delhi.
However, an insensitive incident came to light from the event, when at least 11 people attending the funeral, reported their phones stolen.
According to a report by Hindustan Times, Minister of State for Environment Babul Supriyo and Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Som Prakash were among the ones whose phones were stolen.
Talking to Hindustan Times, Babul Supriyo said that his secretary also lost his phone. He further added:
"There was a spot where some water was logged and therefore the area got crowded. I think it was that spot where the pickpockets targeted the visitors. We have given complaints and FIRs have been registered."
Patanjali spokesperson SK Tijarawala's phone was also stolen. He took to Twitter to share the incident.
