While America is yet to recover from Hillary Clinton’s loss to Donald Trump in the 2016 election, the ex-Democratic presidential nominee was spotted hiking with her husband, Bill Clinton and their dogs on Wednesday.
Mergot Gerster, who is a Hillary supporter and was out on a walk to distract herself from the ‘heart-breaking’ election results, met with an unlikely surprise when she bumped into Hillary in New York’s Chappaqua, where Clinton has been living for the past 17 years.
Gerster, while sharing her excitement with the world, posted a photo of her with Hillary along with an account of their surprise encounter on Facebook.
The picture was reportedly taken by Bill Clinton.

She says she’d been feeling “so heartbroken since yesterday’s election and decided what better way to relax than take my girls hiking.” As she was about to end her hike, she met with an unexpected surprise on the trail where she spotted the Clintons.
“I heard a bit of rustling coming towards me and as I stepped into the clearing there she was, Hillary Clinton and Bill with their dogs doing exactly the same thing as I was,” Gerster wrote.
“I got to hug her and talk to her and tell her that one of my most proudest moments as a mother was taking [my daughter] with me to vote for her.”
A smiling Clinton dressed down in an over-sized black hoodie hugged Gerster and thanked her for her warm words.
“She hugged me and thanked me and we exchanged some sweet pleasantries and then I let them continue their walk,” Gerster wrote. “Now, I’m not one for signs but I think I’ll definitely take this one. So proud.”
