Planning to do your bit for the upcoming World Environment Day? Well there’s good news for you as Ola Cabs has come up with a unique initiative called ‘Plant a sapling’ straight from the Ola App.

In a bid to encourage citizens to protect and nurture the environment, Ola India, a mobile app for personal transportation, has launched a nationwide campaign which will enable anyone from across the country to ‘plant a sapling’ using the Ola mobile app. For every sapling planted by a user, Ola will plant an additional sapling.

For every Rs. 100 contributed by the user, Ola will also contribute an additional Rs. 100 which will be donated to SGI for the cause. The contributors will ab also provided with a digital certificate after 15 days.

That is not all. Ola has announced one more initiative called ‘Ride a Bike Today’, where commuters in the cities of Chennai and Bangalore can reserve a bicycle free of cost using a new ‘Bike’ icon that will appear on the Ola app. The move is aimed to promote the use of non-motorised vehicles for transportation.

So what if Delhi banned cabs. You can still plant a tree!
