India observes 2nd October, the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi as ‘Gandhi Jayanti’. His stance on non-violence has even resulted today being observed as the ‘International Day of Non-Violence’.
However, it is startling to see this hashtag trending on Twitter: #Godse_amar_rahe, or Long Live Godse. Nathuram Godse was the man who assassinated Gandhi back in 1948.
And when you open that pandora’s box, you’re welcomed to tweets like these.

My all fellow members, i informed you that Tomorrow, on 2oct, we will unfollow the one who wishes Gandhi a happy birthday.

We are #Godse supporter, and this country belongs to #BhagatSingh and if you want to congratulate, then give #Lal_Bahadur_Shastri who was also born on 2oct.
#Godse was a patriotic Indian who killed Gandhi by holding him responsible for India’s partition and massacre of Hindus that followed as result of #Batwara. #Gandhi #Ambedkar #Nehru could have saved Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru but applied Fevicol on their lips !!
