Politicians across party lines have gotten together in this time of mourning to pay their tributes to the much-loved politician. Among these was PM Narendra Modi who took to Twitter to offer condolences on her untimely demise.

The whole nation was shook to its core when the news broke of Sushma Swaraj’s demise

He posted a string of tweets expressing his sorrow and mourning for his contemporary’s untimely death. 

PM Modi and other BJP leaders and ministers visited the Swaraj residence this morning to pay their respects and console the grieving family. Modi was seen tearing up when he stood before Sushma Swaraj’s casket, alongside her husband Swaraj Kaushal 

Delhi and Haryana have announced a 2-day period of mourning. 

Sushma Swaraj’s mortal remains are at the BJP HQ for party leaders and workers to pay their respects. Her last rites will be performed after 3 pm at the Lodhi crematorium on 7 August.
