Minister of State (MoS) of Labor Welfare Council in the Uttar Pradesh government, Sunil Bharala spoke to ANI on air pollution in Delhi and NCR region and stubble burning and said:

Farmers have always practiced stubble burning and it is a natural system. Repeated criticism of it is unfortunate. Governments should hold ‘Yagya’ to please Lord Indra (God of rain), as done traditionally… He (Lord Indra) will set things right.

While Bharala’s faith is astounding in the face of this grave adversity, the citizens of the capital, who have been having trouble breathing for about a week now, might not be feeling as blessed.
