We have all heard of actors admitting to the existence of the casting couch in the entertainment industry. We all have heard the stories that swirl around the same storyline: So and so slept their way to the top.
Whether it is Hollywood or Bollywood, the victims’ experiences range from subtle references to forceful sexual assault. But did you know actor Ranveer Singh also almost fell prey to the casting-couch?
In a recent interview with NDTV , Ranveer related his experience of the casting-couch syndrome — trading of sexual favours by an aspirant.
He says, “Casting couch is a very real thing.” He goes on to give a description of that sleazy encounter,
“I visited a certain gentleman at his home in Andheri and handed him my portfolio. But he kept it aside, and later I got to know what he was interested in. When I said ‘No’, he was heartbroken like a jilted lover,” he said. Ouch.
