If sports minister Vijay Goel thought Rio 2016 would make him really popular, then he was right. Just that it’s for all the wrong things. The man has been making gaffe after gaffe – first posting a ridiculous selfie with an exhausted Vikas Krishan, then calling Dipa Karmakar – ‘Karmankar’ – and tweeting out Dutee Chand’s picture while wishing Srabani Nanda.
So when PV Sindhu won her quarterfinal match against China’s Wang Yihan (22-20, 21-19), comedian Tanmay Bhat tweeted out a bunch of congratulatory messages from Vijay Goel…

Oh and did we tell you that Goel almost got his accreditation cancelled by the Olympics Organising Committee because he and his aides were rude and didn’t follow rules? Yea, that happened. What a man.
