After a string of attacks against Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Raghuram Rajan, Chief Economic Adviser Arvind Subramaniam and Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Subramanian Swamy has now decided to take a ‘break’ from Twitter.
The Rajya Sabha MP, who is also known for not mincing his words, will now be posting less on Twitter.
Here is what he tweeted on Friday:
Now Ram Temple, NH, Impleading in Swami Dayananda’s WP in SC, Aircel Maxis, CSK ban etc requires me to concentrate. So few tweets for 1 week
— Subramanian Swamy (@Swamy39) July 1, 2016
The move comes after he was advised by the party to ‘go slow’ so that the BJP-headed NDA government can positively celebrate the achievements of its two years in power, reports Indian Express.
However, before announcing that he will off Twitter for some time, he came out with a string of tweets on the very same day:
Here are some of them:
On the Dhaka terror attack:
It is painful to see daily murder of Hindu priests and activists in B’Desh.Hindu blood was shed to liberate these barbarians to create BDesh
— Subramanian Swamy (@Swamy39) July 1, 2016
An indirect attack on Arun Jaitley:
If I apply Samuelson-Swamy Theory of Index Numbers to India’s GDP calculation or RBI interests rates, media will scream anti party activity!
— Subramanian Swamy (@Swamy39) July 1, 2016
An attack on the media:
I filed 2G Scam case, lawyers made a lot of money defending the crooks. Now because of my tweets, presstitudes raking in cash in trucks!!
— Subramanian Swamy (@Swamy39) July 1, 2016
And another tweet about the Dhaka attack on Saturday:
ISIS at Dhaka: PTs two years ago I said ISIS will be at our door step if we don’t join US and Israel at ISIS doorstep with 20,000 jawans.
— Subramanian Swamy (@Swamy39) July 2, 2016
And then again:
Back to my desk. Will read PTs tweets but cannot respond till evening if necessary
— Subramanian Swamy (@Swamy39) July 2, 2016
A few days ago, BJP had cancelled two public events where Swamy was about to speak. The move came a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a TV interview said that “anyone who believes he is bigger than the system is wrong”.
