A few weeks have passed after the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus went on sale in Indian markets, and now Apple has come with a big announcement just ahead of Diwali. The highly anticipated Apple Watch has been launched in India and is available from today.

Hoping to open sales with a bang in the festive season, the Apple Watch is priced at Rs 30,900 onwards, and comes in two sizes. The Apple Watch Sport comes at Rs 39,900 and the Apple Watch is available for Rs 48,900, and is available in Gold, Rose Gold, Space Gray, Silver Anodized Aluminium, silver and black colours.

The lowest priced variants are Silver Aluminium Case and White Sport Band at Rs 30,900 and Rs 34,900 for 38mm and 42 mm sizes respectively, while the most expensive is the Apple watch Edition, made in 18-Carat Rose gold casing, which starts at Rs 8.2 lakh and goes up to Rs 14.2 lakh. All this while the Apple Watch Hermes designer range has not even been launched in India.

Apart from an elegantly crafted outer appearance, the Apple Watch also has a number of features, including a timepiece which can be personalised with a range of watch faces. While swiping up on the watch face can show information like weather forecast, location and music, fitness freaks can measure calories burned with the Activity app which keeps a record of physical activity, and Workout app which provides detailed information for walking, running and cycling.

Just like the iPhone made a grand entry in Indian markets, the Apple Watch will also have that ‘special’ value placed on it. But do you think it is worth the price or would you rather wait for Apple to refine the product even more?
