After The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill piloted by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah was passed in the Lok Sabha on late Monday, it is currently awaiting approval in The Rajya Sabha. The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill grants citizenship to Hindu, Sikh, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christian migrant refugees from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan who are being prosecuted for religious reasons. However, many have raised the issue that it is anti-Muslim and excludes the community altogether. Here is how international media chose to cover the bill.
