Reacting to the allegations of corruption against Prime Minister Narendra Modi by Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Wednesday sought to bring the “purity” of Ganga to counter Gandhi.
“Our Prime Minister is as pure as the river Ganga,” Prasad told reporters in Delhi.
While Prasad might have intended to shut up the opposition with the Ganga analogy, the discussion on Twitter entirely veered towards a different direction: How pure is Ganga? And how much is the Modi-led government spending to “purify” Ganga?
There were also some hilarious reactions and witty one-liners.
Here are some Twitter reactions:
BJP is right, Modi is just as clean as the Ganga. Full of the dead’s ashes (from 2002) and rubbish left over by devotees (bhakts).
