Actor-turned-politician Vijayakanth – a Third Front CM candidate in Tamil Nadu – indulged himself in an hour-long Q&A on Twitter on Sunday, much to the delight of his fans who are on the micro-blogging site.

Just a day prior to the event, his Twitter handle@iVijayakant seems to have been created with a picture advertising the upcoming session.

This move could be touted as course correction after the third Chief Ministerial candidate of Tamil Nadu, besides Jayalalithaa and Karunanidhi, is reportedly criticised for his poor connect with the masses.

And like in real life, on Twitter too, he wasn’t one to mince his words.

The outcome? A concoction of humour and awkwardness with a touch of bewilderment.

We bring you his choicest answers:

On his favourite heroes and villains

He revealed that while Vaiko is his favourite hero, Jayalalithaa and Karunanidhi were his villains.

How will he bring down corruption?

“I will set up Lokayukta and anti-corruption force,” said Vijayakanth, as reported by Times of India

If you’ve never heard of the ‘Anti-Corruption Force’ before, well, do not despair. It’s a group which the superstar’s character created in the 2002 hit movie, Ramana (later remade into Bollywood as ‘Gabbar is back’), where he played a role of a vigilante professor who trains his students into fighting corruption.

About the programmes of his party’s TV channel

He replied that he doesn’t watch TV. Who knew the potential Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu could troll as well?

And this…

On global warming

Someone asked why he is not very audible of late

Well, Vijayakanth shot back saying, “The problem lies in your ears.”

Before signing off, he highlighted the important role of youth in the country and announced that he will do another Q&A session this Sunday.
