All you people, who basically have been taking screenshots for a hobby, might soon find WhatsApp standing in your passion’s way.

WhatsApp has rolled out a new beta version that blocks people from taking chat screenshots, but in a weird way.

According to reports, if a user enables this new feature for Android 2.19.106, they won’t be able to take screenshots. However, other people can still capture screenshots of the chats they’re involved in.
When the Authentication feature will be available and you enable it, conversation screenshots are blocked (for you) 😢

What do you think? I don’t like the idea and I don’t see the point.
If I authenticate my identity using my fingerprint, why conversation screenshots are blocked? https://t.co/wVFWyx2Ibb

Whatsapp will also soon get a Fingerprint Authentication feature for Android users.

As of now, there’s no information when this new feature will roll out, or whether it will be announced for Android, iOS or both.
WhatsApp to soon not allow screenshots anymore? That’s the end of many a conversation. ugh.

Time to start hoarding screenshots. Take as many as your phone’s memory can handle.
