China, in a unique trade pact, will be investing in donkey farms in Pakistan. And Pakistan will be exporting these donkeys to its stratergical neighbour.

According to News18, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa livestock department has decided to establish donkey farms as part of its export plans with the foreign partnership.

Speaking to reporters the department officials said:

Agreements will be signed with the Chinese government as well as registered companies.

According to reports, the export is likely to take place in phases, wherein weak and suffering donkeys would be supplied first. 

About 80,000 of these animals are going to be exported in the first three years. Chinese companies are ready to invest $3 billion in the donkey farm industry in Pakistan.

Donkeys are one of the main sources of income for the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, with as many as 70,000 families being dependent on the animals.
