Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh found himself in an awkward situation after he referred to Jammu and Kashmir as ‘India-occupied Kashmir’ in an interaction with the media in New Delhi.

While addressing reporters on Thursday, Singh slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his recent statements about Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Balochistan. He criticised Modi for taking care of the interests of regions outside India and asked him to look into the Kashmir issue.

While talking, he referred to the state as ‘India-occupied Kashmir’.  However, when asked by a reporter, he was quick to realise his mistake and changed it to ‘India’s Kashmir’.
