Her supporters raised slogans of “Puratchi Thalaivi Amma Vazhga (Long live revolutionary leader Amma)” as she stepped into the decorated Madras University Auditorium in her trademark green saree. 

AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa had created history by returning to power for a second term, breaking a 32-year record, and so her supporters were pretty happy as she took oath on Monday.

What caught everyone’s attention was the presence of her arch political nemesis and DMK party treasurer M K Stalin at the ceremony. However, it is not his first such appearance as he also had participated in her swearing in ceremony in 2001.
