Amid the ongoing violence in West Bengal, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Rupa Ganguly challenged the supporters of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the Congress to send women of their families to Bengal and survive 15 days without getting raped, Times Now reported.

She said if the women survive even 15 days safely in West Bengal, then they should come back and tell her.

“I dare all the parties, the ones who keep flattering the Bengal government and Congress, to send their daughters, wives, and sister-in-laws to Bengal without taking any hospitality from Banerjee. If they are able to survive for 15 days without getting raped, then tell me,” she said to the news agency ANI.

Commenting further on the West Bengal violence, Ganguly said democracy has died in the state. ‘No government official does his work. If one does not have sources, he cannot get his work done”,  she said.

West Bengal has been a boiling point for almost a month now due to the violence in the hill city Darjeeling where the Gorkhas are protesting in order for a separate state, Gorkhaland, and the recent Basirhat violence, where communal clashes broke over a social media post.
