After setting the wrestling ring on fire in a salwar-kameez during the Mae Young Classic women’s tournament, Kavita Devi has now bagged a WWE developmental contract, becoming the first Indian woman wrestler to do so.

The exciting news was announced on Twitter by the current WWE champion and ‘The Modern Day Maharaja’ Jinder Mahal.

Devi, who has trained under former WWE Champion, ‘The Great Khali’, at his training academy in Punjab, has also won gold for India at the 2016 South Asian Games.

Twitter was delighted to see Devi bag a WWE contract.

Earlier this year, Devi took on New Zealand-based Dakota Kai in the first round of the Mae Young Classic – WWE’s first all-woman competition.
