South African batsman Shane Dadswell took power hitting to a new level on Saturday as he smashed 490 runs in a 50-over match on his 20th birthday.

The incredible 151-ball innings came in a club match between NWU Pukke and Potch Dorp 1st. Batting first, NWU Pukke made 677/3, with Dadswell hitting 57 sixes and 27 fours to register the huge individual score. In reply, Potch Dorp 1st could only manage 290 for 9 in their 50 overs.

The batsman found support on the other end by his teammate Ruan Haasbroek, who also scored a century. Haasbroek made 104 in just 54 balls, hitting 6 sixes and 12 fours.

Dadswell also impressed with his bowling as he took three wickets in his seven overs, and gave away mere 32 runs.
