India skipper Virat Kohli smashed his 31st ODI century on Sunday against New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
With the century, Kohli became the only second batsman ever after AB De Villiers to score a hundred in his 200th ODI. The Delhi lad also surpassed former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting, who has 30 ODI tons to his name. Kohli is now second in the list of most ODI centuries scored in 50-over cricket, just behind Sachin Tendulkar, who scored 49 tons.
While others struggled to get going, Kohli’s 121 helped India to put up 280 in 50 overs.
Twitter hailed the Indian skipper after another brilliant innings.
