Indians have waited for long to witness the high-voltage clash against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy and the batsmen could not have given them a better start.

Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss and asked India to bat. The decision opened the floodgates for runs even with two rain interruptions.

Opener Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan put up 136 runs for the the first wicket. Sharma top scored for India with 91 runs, Dhawan amassed 68. Skipper Virat Kohli assumed the role of anchor with another solid innings of 81 and stayed till the end.

Yuvraj Singh played the role of the aggressor with a quick-fire fifty. The southpaw showed no mercy has he smashed Pakistani bowlers left, right and centre for 53 runs off 32 balls.

All-rounder Hardik Pandya smashed three sixes of the last over to help India reach 319/8. Pakistan have to chase 324 runs in 48 overs according to the D/L method.
