Team India got themselves into a very strong position on Day 3 of the second Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo and have a 157-run lead with 9 wickets left.

An impressive bowling performance led by leggie Amit Mishra (4/43) stopped the Lankan score to 306 despite a fantastic ton by captain Angelo Mathews.

India in their second innings lost the first innings centurion, KL Rahul (2), in the first over but Murali Vijay (39) and Ajinkya Rahane (28) got the score to 70/1 at stumps on Day 3.

The onus is on the Indian batsmen to score quickly and give their bowlers enough time and runs to bowl Sri Lanka out and level the series 1-1.
