R. Ashwin picked up his first 5-wicket haul outside India as India drew the lone Test with Bangladesh. 248 overs of the match were lost due to rain.

Earlier, thanks to centuries from Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay, India had powered to 462/6 declared. Despite a fighting 72 from Imrul Kayes, 5 wickets from Ashwin and 3 more from Harbhajan Singh had reduced Bangladesh to 256.

Forced to follow on, Bangladesh were 23/0 in the second innings when play ended. The Test was drawn and both teams shared the trophy.

The result means that India slip to 4th in the ICC Test rankings.
