A clinical performance by Mumbai Indians with both bat and ball gave them an important 8-run win over second-placed Rajasthan Royals on Friday, 1 May.

Almost all the MI batsmen chipped in with Ambati Rayudu (27-ball 53*) providing the late emphasis to the innings. Rohit Sharma would have been happy to see 187/5 on the board.

RR’s fight back was led by Sanju Samson (76 off 46) but an impressive spell from Mitchell McClenaghan (3/31) ensured that Rajasthan couldn’t really come close to winning.

MI have picked up their form of late winning two in two while Rajasthan are bleeding, having not won a game in their past 5 encounters.
