MS Dhoni received a lot of flak after he failed to carry India to victory against New Zealand in the second T20I in Rajkot on November 4. The former skipper’s patchy innings reinvigorated the debate over his place in India’s T20 team.

Former India cricketers Ajit Agarkar and VVS Laxman have even suggested the Indian team management to start looking beyond the wicketkeeper-batsman in the shortest format of the game.

Agarkar had said that India will not miss Dhoni T20 cricket.

“I think India must now look at other options, at least in T20Is. In one-day cricket, they seem to be happy with the role that he is playing. When you were the captain of the side, it was different. But just as a batsman, will India miss him, I don’t think so. In T20 cricket, it is lot easier to make that transition as there is lot of experience in that team apart from MS Dhoni now.”

But now the former pacer, Agarkar, who played 191 ODIs and 26 Tests for India is being targeted on Twitter for his criticism of Dhoni.
