When Shah Rukh Khan walked into the Indian Women’s Hockey Team dressing room in Chak De! India, there was a certain belief in his gait. His team was new, inexperienced and vulnerable. But it had potential. All it needed was a push. And that push of encouragement came beautifully in the form of Kabir Khan’s (SRK’s character in the movie) very famous sattar-minute speech that is now etched in the memory of the viewers forever.
This particular scene has set the bar in sports so high, we can’t imagine anything coming close to it. Or so we thought!
Recently, India’s limited overs captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni addressed the young Team India ahead of their Test tour of West Indies and touched upon a range of topics that could help the team win.
As the skipper spoke on various issues ranging from focus, unity and hard work…
We felt a jolt of deja vu!
From his thoughts and body language to his way of speaking…
Everything just reminded us of Shah Rukh Khan’s speech from Chak De!
The fact that Dhoni, too, will be watching the series from the sidelines and not taking direct part in it…
Makes the conversation all the more similar!
And if that wasn’t enough, Dhoni even mentions the importance of the fun the team had together in those 45 minutes!
Yeah, 45 minutes!! Sounds familiar!?
