India rode on skipper Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 110 to beat Sri Lanka by six wickets in the 5th ODI at Colombo. With the win, Team India completed a series whitewash against the Upul Tharanga’s side. India also become the first team to whitewash Sri Lanka at home.

Pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar was adjudged the man of the match for his maiden five-wicket haul. 

It was a complete series win for India, the team dominated in all the three departments and were also able to rotate and give opportunity to fringe players.

With another ODI ton and 30th overall, Kohli equaled former Australia captain Ricky Ponting’s record for second most ODI hundreds. Sachin Tendulkar holds the record of most ODI centuries with 49 tons.

Earlier, MS Dhoni became the first wicket-keeper in world cricket to effect 100 stumpings in ODIs. He achieved the feat when he whipped off the bails to remove Akila Dananjaya off leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal’s bowling.
