When it comes to Indian celebrities on Facebook, Virat Kohli is right at the top of the list, with a staggering 35 million followers and counting.

This is 6 million followers more than Salman Khan and the Indian captain is now only behind PM Narendra Modi, who has around 42 million followers – but gets classified more as a politician and not as a celebrity, even though he enjoys that status as well.

It also seems that Kohli’s popularity has remained untouched even after the recent controversy surrounding the ouster of Anil Kumble as India coach.

Kohli is not just ruling the roost on Facebook. He also has 16 million followers on Twitter and 14 million on Instagram, which easily makes him the most popular cricketer on the planet and one of the most popular athletes in the world.

Kohli also charges more than the likes of Shah Rukh Khan for endorsements and is also the only Indian on Forbes’ list of the 100 richest sportspersons in the world.

All in all, Kohli is at his peak and is showing no signs of slowing down – on, or off the pitch.
