An incredible opening partnership between David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan helped Sunrisers Hyderbad beat holders Kolkata Knight Riders by 16 runs (D/L method) in a rain-affected match.

Opting to bat first, Warner (55-ball 91) took his time before launching himself and allowed his partner, Dhawan (54), to play himself in. An opening partnership of 130 powered them to 176/6.

The Rain Gods intervened and it meant that KKR needed 118 from 12 overs. Robin Uthappa (34) and Manish Pandey (33) tried valiantly but could never come close as KKR finished with 101/4.

It was a much needed win for SRH as they had lost three in four this season. KKR are still in the top 3 with three wins but performances like this, and they will only go down.
