Yesterday was one hell of a day in the world of sports. The ICC World Cup final between England and New Zealand kept fans hooked to their TV screens till the end.
After England registered its maiden World Cup victory, talking to media, captain Eoin Morgan said that they had Allah with them.
We had Allah with us as well. I spoke to Adil (Rashid), he said Allah was definitely with us. I said we had the rub of the green.
The English team has players belonging to different countries and Morgan said these cultural differences epitomises their team.
"We're from quite diverse backgrounds and cultures and guys grow up in different countries. To actually find humour in the situation we were in at times was pretty cool."
This is how Twitter reacted to his statement.

Huge respect for #Morgan who was beautifully inclusive of the beliefs of his team mates. It wasn’t about him but teamwork 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽— fauzia yazdani (@yazdanifauzia) July 15, 2019
Epitomises England as a nation. Doesn't matter where you were born or who your parents are it's what you bring to the nation and the passion you have for it— M (@MattMc2018) July 15, 2019
He also commended the New Zealand team for their outstanding and consistent performance throughout the tournament.
