You visit hotels or rentals when travelling away from home to have a relaxed time. But what if you were being spied on the whole time?

Cameras are usually planted behind the clocks, lamps and fire alarms, making it difficult to figure if someone’s is recording you while you spend personal time at these places.

A similar incident happened with a man staying at an Airbnb room in USA.

According to a Daily Mail report, the man found a hidden camera in his room disguised as motion detector to avoid theft.

This has raised concern over privacy and safety of people during their stay at a hotel and other rental properties.

The person’s colleague posted about the incident on Twitter and wrote:

In “oh, that’s a thing now” news, a colleague of mine thought it odd that there was a single “motion detector” in his AirBNB in the bedroom.

‘Voila, it’s an IP camera connected to the web. (He left at 3am, reported, host is suspended, colleague got refund.)’

The location of the Airbnb property is still not known but the authorities say they have permanently banned the owner of property and given the visitor his refund.

The paranoia surrounding the stay in rentals is increasing because of the ‘new spy technologies’ which can be hidden very efficiently.

The fact that there is no direct accountability makes things worse.

The low on budget rooms are rented by hotels or even individual property owners who have signed up with big companies and if something goes wrong, there isn’t much that can be done.

Well, this is creepy to say the least.
