Our Railway Minister, Suresh Prabhu has been doing a lot of awesome things lately. The man has been extremely active when it comes to taking responsibility and responding to issues on social media as well. And now, he has inaugurated a classy semi-luxury train called the ‘Tiger Express’.

Why the name, Tiger Express, you ask? It’s because the train is meant to take you through Bandhavgarh and Kanha National Parks, in Madhya Pradesh, and both the wildlife reserves are known for their tigers.

The train, which is set to run regularly on the tracks from October this year, comes with a 5 days-6 nights package that’s inclusive of 3 tiger safaris and also a visit to the Dhuadhar Waterfall (near Jabalpur).

The prices of course vary on the basis of which class you would want to choose. AC first-class is available at ₹49,500 for single occupancy, whereas double and triple will cost you ₹45,500 & ₹44,900 respectively.

Yes it sounds expensive. But it’s not like the charges are only for the train journey and the safaris. The package includes 3 nights accommodation in three-star hotels (1N- Bandavgarh & 2N- Kanha), travelling with the cities, travel by road (in AC cars of course) and not to mention, buffet meals. So the deal is pretty sweet.

If you’re looking for something a little cheaper, you can opt for AC 2-tier. The prices start at ₹33,500 but can also touch the 44k mark. And for foreigners, an additional ₹4,000 will be charged while booking safaris.

Ohh and this train has shower cubicles for passengers and a classy dining cart as well. So, are you changing your travel plans?
