When we think of the legendary airline, Air India, the first thing that comes to our head is the color red. Be it its interiors or its cabin crew’s attire, the airline is synonymous with the crimson color. However now that the world is accepting changes with open arms, so is this airline.

Air India unveiled their brand-new uniforms with a modern touch, designed by ace fashion designer, Manish Malhotra.

The brand-new cabin crew’s attire feels like a breath of fresh air. The female crew uniform includes a contemporary ombre saree with intricate patterns inspired by our heritage architecture, specifically the jharokha design. Paired with a comfortable blouse and blazer for added convenience, the female crew exudes both style and practicality.

In contrast, the cockpit crew would wear a timeless black-hued double-breasted suit featuring bandhgalas, projecting a classic and sophisticated look.

Additionally, the designer has crafted footwear to complement the airline’s attire. The female cabin crew will don black and burgundy block heels, while the cabin crew will sport chic black brogues for a polished look.

Reimagining their uniforms is the onset of a journey of joy and collaboration, and I am excited to embark on it. Our shared ideology is simple yet profound: to evolve without erasing, to modernize without forgetting. Together, we aim to intertwine tradition with the future, crafting uniforms where comfort meets authenticity, wrapped in timeless elegance.”
