In a rather shocking incident reported from Bristol, England, some rich brats have installed anti-bird spikes on trees to avoid bird poop from falling on their expensive cars.
The incident came to light after a user posted the photos on Twitter.
Our war on wildlife: now birds are not allowed in trees...?! Pigeon spikes spotted in Clifton, Bristol above a car park. Has anyone seen this before? How is it allowed?!📷: thanks to Anna Francis pic.twitter.com/NuG9WvYBMj— Jennifer Garrett (@JMAGarrett) December 18, 2017
Needless to say, people called out the shitty move.
Disgusting human behaviour. Seems we are always inventing new ways to destroy nature.— Steve berrill (@steveberrill) December 20, 2017
If these rich people want to protect their cars throw a wrap over them, this is animal cruelty and needs stopping.— Brian M A (@brianma68) December 20, 2017
Really this is so crazy, you couldn't make it up could you. I mean stopping birds from perching in trees, whats next - maybe ban them from flying. We need to round up all these human goofballs and force them to live below ground in the dark until they learn to appreciate nature.— Barrhead Birder (@BarrheadBirder) December 18, 2017
A local had a pretty crappy explanation for the act and told The Bristol Post, “The spikes are solely to protect the cars, there is no other reason. There is a big problem with bird droppings around here. They can really make a mess of cars, and for some reason they [the birds] do seem to congregate around this area.”
WTF, humans. Isn't there enough space for all of us here?
