The world isn’t fair, that’s a fact. But we can either accept that and move on or we can do our best to at least even the odds a little bit. In light of Taher Shah’s recent viral tragedy of a music video, it’d be nice to look at some hidden talents and gems the world over who actually do deserve even a little of the same recognition that this man receives.

These talented singers might not have gone viral, but they sure deserve to be famous!

1. Tumpa Kumari, a visually challenged Indian girl who can sing ‘Sun Raha Hai Na Tu’ flawlessly

Tumpa studies in Brajkishore Blind School, and is commonly referred to as the next nightingale of India.

Considered a child prodigy, this youngster’s melodious voice works magic on anyone who listens.

3. Prerna Agarwal, the visually challenged and autistic girl who can sing and play percussion excellently

Prerna even featured on Indian Idol junior once, and hones her talent despite her hardships. Clearly, she isn’t as famous as she should be.

4. This Indian beggar girl, who can sing and play the ravanahatha flawlessly

This video was taken in the Ambaji Temple in Gujarat. Her name isn’t known, but her talent is clear for all to see, not just by her voice, but also by her prowess on the ravanahatha, a traditional folk instrument.

5. This old man who can play the harmonium and sing with the gusto of a person half his age

This wizened old man’s name isn’t known, but he can play the harmonium like pro. Combined with his singing, he’s one entertaining specimen!

6. This girl from Darjeeling with the most charming voice you’ll hear today

This demure looking girl has a natural knack for singing, as is evident in this video, and from the awestruck look on her classmate’s faces.

7. This pint-sized professional who can sing a bhajan like nobody’s business!

Sooryagayathri is a 9-year old girl, but her singing prowess is prodigious. She’s an expert at devotional songs.

8. This painter who can sing Sajjad Ali’s ‘Har Zulm’ note for note

It’s great to find beauty in the most unexpected places, as in the case of this painter, whose amazing singing goes unhindered by all the work going on behind him.

10. This old man who can belt ‘Kar Chale Hum Fida’ even while lying down!

There’s literally nothing we know about this man, but he can sing like a boss while lying down and probably almost falling asleep. Natural talent!

11. This Pakistani man singing an absolutely beautiful rendition of ‘Chupke Chupke Raat Din’

This man is thought to have passed away recently, but we’re glad that there’s this little remnant of him still around. A voice like that going to waste is a true tragedy.
