With a brand valuation of USD 144 million, the Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli has raced past Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan to become the the most valuable celebrity brand in India.
According to Duff & Phelps report Rise of the Millennials: India's Most Valuable Celebrity Brands, Kohli has registered a growth of 56% as a brand from last year primarily with an increase in endorsement fees, on-field performances and rise in popularity index. He endorses 20 brands as of October 2017.
SRK endorses 21 brands and has slipped down to number two in the rank for the first time ever.
Endorsing a total of 23 brands, Deepika Padukone has retained her third position.
Akshay Kumar's brand value surged nearly 97% this year after he added 7 new product brands to his portfolio.
On number 13 is former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
And occupying the 15th slot is ace shuttler PV Sindhu. She becomes the first female sports personality to feature in the top 15 celebrities.
